Hi there!
I was wondering out of the many things I could possibly write about which will be the first? So, I decided the bas(e)ics might be the best- who would have thought?
Today I will be talking through and showing what products I use and how to achieve a flawless make-up base by showing my day to day glam look.
Now, (tip coming) there is a common misconception out there that when starting your makeup the base must always be done first… I have had lots of friends be surprised when I start with my eyes first when I’m incorporating eyeshadow into my makeup look as personally, if i’m doing any darker eyeshadow or i’m working with glittery/looser eyeshadow, I will do my eyes first so as to not dirty the under eye area with loose powder that may fall from the eye area or the brush. But, as I’m doing a minimal soft brown matte eyeshadow today, I will start with my skin first.
Firstly I make sure my face is hydrated- I use Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer every day and night, particularly in this Tasmania Winter where it can dry out your skin.

Step 1. I apply Touche Eclat Blur Primer by Yves Saint Laurent.. Yes. YSL. I bet your eyes are already burning saying but lady how much did you pay for that?! Well, it was $72.00 AUD and YES it is worth every dollar. It is literally the best primer ever, it smooths your skin out so perfectly to allow foundation to glide on and blend with absolutely no issues. Apply one pump all over your face, I use my fingers to blend.
Step 2. L’Oreal True Match in shade warm nude ($24.99). I find this foundation gives beautiful coverage that blends very well and is easy to build. I use a brush from Bobbi Brown in circular motions all over, blending it out and then applying a second layer, paying careful attention to blending into my neck.
Step 3. Born This Way concealer by Too Faced ($40.00). I love this concealer because it sits on your skin so naturally with no caking. I use a Clinique foundation brush to blend it out under my eye area while patting it down with the flat of the brush.
Step 4. For an extra warmth in complexion and to set the concealer I use a big fluffy brush from L’Oreal to apply MAC Mineralize Skinfinish ($52.00) in medium powder particularly in my T-Zone and lightly all over my face.
And that’s how I achieve my daily flawless base!!

I finished off my look with some extra products which I will list here.
Bobbi Brown bronzer in “Natural” – $65.00
Tarte Amazonian clay 12 hour blush in “exposed” – $38.00
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in “Champagne Pop” – $68.00
MAC eyeshadow in “soft brown” $33.00
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in “medium brown” – $41.00
tarte tarteist liquid matte lipstick in “bestie”- $29.00
Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara – $57.00
